So long summer!

Summer is over.

And it hasn't exactly been restful.  I'm looking forward to going back to teaching so that I can have some relaxed time structure.

Audric is now 14 months old.  It was probably good for me to take pictures every month so that I could blog.

After Sedona, we fell in to our routine.
Monday: Grocery shopping in the morning, lagoon after naps, yoga for momma after baby's bedtime.
Tuesday:  Bible Study (for most of the summer), chores during nap, walking adventure
Wednesday: Walking or visit friends in the morning, chores while baby naps, lagoon in the afternoon.
Thursday: Run errands in the morning, or find a new park, naps, travel to Lake Arrowhead
Friday:  Maybe go to Lake Arrowhead, find an adventure, go shopping
Saturday: We've had our share of weddings, lunches in LA, adventures around So Cal
Sunday: Church and rest and hang with Grandma and Grandpa

On top of all of that, I started working for GoToMyApartment.com at the end of June.  So, for an hour in the early morning, during naps, and as soon as baby went down I was on the computer.  By the end of July I was fried, so I quit.  Lovingly, of course.  They hired a young gun straight out of USC.  She'll be great.  And their company will thrive.

Looking at photos is way more fun than reading, so here's our summer in photos:

OC Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa.  Who knew we had such a cool/cheap place to hangout so close?!

Lots of visits to GrandmaGreat's house.  This is Audy and cousin Fletcher with GrandmaGreat.

Learning to eat on our own hasn't been neat.  Or easy.  Someday, someday....

Got dedicated at church.  Was fun to do with several other couples from our Lifegroup/Rooted Group at church!
Could he look any more like his daddy?

Lots of walks...even in the rain puddles

Accompanying mom on an engagement photo shoot.  Dad was tired of trying to keep him out of trouble!

Fun in Lake Arrowhead - lots of weekends up there.

Water gear.  We got called little blueberries a lot.

Grandpa Naumann was in LA for a few days so we got to have dinner with him!  Special treat!

Mama did it.  She gave in and let baby play in the fountain at the mall.  And he loved it.
Lots of new sounds, faces, and movements from our "toddler" these days.  He LOVES reading books - so much so that I think he's going to need a library card soon, or we need to move to a bigger house to fit all his books.

Losts of Walks. Sometimes without a stroller.

Don't you want to eat this face?!

Concert in the park and picnic with friends.  Probably a highlight of the whole summer.  We should do this every weekend.

We discovered LOTS of parks.  The coolest one is a city park - it's like a GIANT jungle gym for big and little kids.  It's like a mile away, but worth the hot journey.

I know I'm crazy for even wanting to try..  That's a given.  But potty training isn't all it's cracked up to be.  It will humble me in ways I never knew possible.  I won't show you photo #2, but it wasn't pretty.

Trip to the mall to stay cool.  Stupid heat wave.  But mommy enjoyed shopping and Audric learned he loves the carousal.

Lagoon with Grandma and Grandpa.  That's right folks, my dad took his shoes off and got his feet wet. A.MA.ZING.  Grandkids can change a person!

Swimming in our friend's pool.  We did A LOT of swimming this summer!

Wedding!  It was fun to get gussied up and go out WITHOUT a baby!

That's all the photos Blogger would let me upload.  I suppose it's for the best.  You're probably bored by now anyway.

In other news:  We have seen Audric's audiologists and teachers a few times.  They are still seeing a minor hearing loss, but as far as we can tell, he's great.  He hears helicopters and airplanes before we notice them.  In December we meet with the audiologist again.  Hopefully by then he'll have some more words and we can do more tests.  At that point, if they want to do another sedated hearing test, we'll have to have conversations because I don't really want to!  And we may move forward with hearing aids so his speech isn't affected.  At this point though, our little babbler isn't going to have any issues!
