- Walking to my classroom each morning is filled with anticipation. What will happen today? Who will I talk to and reach?
But my anticipation isn't linked only with the students in my classes. More and more, I look forward to the interactions I am able to have with my colleagues.
Studies show (where, I couldn't tell you, but I'm sure they do) that people who have friends at work are happier people and therefore more productive. Today we had this dreadfully boring meeting after school. I've avoided going to them for 2 years now, but for some reason, now I'll end up at every one. But actually, I don't think I'll mind them. We split up in groups and analyze data. As we are walking to our groups, we look around and start giggling like school girls -- because somehow all of us "girlfriends" ended up in the same group. We all like one another and would hang out beyond our regular day (and do!)
So the ever boring meeting became not so unbearable. Because I have friends. Isn't that what life is all about?
