Reunion

Entry for January 07, 2006 magnify

I got a digital camera for Christmas...and I love it. More photos this year: resolustion #1.

A week on the beach was a good way to end 2005 and ring in 2006 -- but I wish it could stay that way all year long. It was refreshing, rewarding, and reminding of where I have come -- and lately I don't feel like I've grown much. But, the friends that stuck by me during the lowest times are people that I want to keep a part of my life. Russia was a trying time in my life; I don't like who I was there, but somehow I made friends, and they still speak to me. They are women of Christ that are confident, beautiful, and worthy of all the things He has laid out for them.

Reality hit hard this week, but, since attitude is everything, I was bent on having a good one. I DO like teaching, even if I complain about it. I have been blessed by the greatest students this year -- seriously wonderful kids. Tuesday morning they all wanted to know "What did you do for the break, Ms. Davies?" :) That just made me smile. They cared. And I asked some of them. I don't have kids who are snorting coke in class this year, no fights, no prostituting females (ok, one, but she restrains herself in my room.) I'm blessed, and somehow, glad to be back at work.
